I was born in Salem, WV. I graduated high school at 17, got a job and started taking flying lessons. I soloed on my 18th birthday. I didn’t learn to drive till I was 19, when I moved to IN to work for an airline. A friend talked me into joining the Air Force at 21. I was sent to TX for basic training. Then I was sent to McGuire AFB. Since I had Airline experience, I didn’t have to attend Tech school.
When I got to McGuire AFB, I went up to the shift chief and said “I am assigned to be on your shift”. He said, “Oh no, I don’t want any women on my shift.” After unsuccessfully trying to trade me off, he was stuck with me. We started dating right away and 3 months after that day, we were married. I know he was a gift from God, as we had 61 wonderful years, before he passed away in 2020 with COVID. We had moved several times and after he passed, everyone said I had so many great stories, I should write a book. So, at 86 years of age, I became the author of my autobiography called “Blessed Beyond Belief”. (On Amazon)
As rank had been frozen for 3 years, we decided to leave the Air Force and moved to Miami. Then to Long Island, then to Georgia, and then to Arizona. He was Jewish, but after a few years, he said he would go to church with me. He received Yeshua as his Mesiah and we went to Bible College. We went on staff with Rock of Israel Ministries and traveled the USA and Canada, teaching the churches their Jewish roots. A friend of mine, Sue Beers, told me about VHVA. I was inspired by the first meeting, and I decided to join the group.
