James (Jim) R. Wetterman
Born: 02.05.1948, Beaumont TX, raised in Dallas/Ft. Worth area, move to East Texas for most of my High School. Relocated to Wisconsin where my father worked in the Aircraft industry and was transferred. Finished High School Wisconsin in 1966.
Entered the US Army after graduation due to US Draft in 1966, however I elected to join in order to choose my MOS. Entered basic training in Wisconsin and was flown to Ft. Poke LA for induction, then bussed to Ft. Hood, TX for basic training. Entered AIT as an Armor Tank Crewman 2nd Armor Division. August 1967 4 Infantry Div. left Ft. Hood by train to Oakland CA. We boarded the USS Nelson M. Walker Troop Ship and spent the next few weeks headed to Vietnam. I served with the 2nd /1 Cavalry, 4 Infantry Div. Base Camp Enari, Pleiku. I spent 13 months in country. My last year I served in FT. Knox Ky. Working with the Officer Candidate School in the academics Department.
After leaving the military I entered the workplace and college. I married my wife of 52 years here in Anderson. In the first 10 yrs. of my career I worked for Dow Badische Anderson SC producing PET. After college I moved into the engineered product industry as a Sales Engineer. In 1990 I opened my business and worked for myself over the next 30 yrs. representing various companies worldwide and Retired 2014.
